The Casual Vacancy

I read J.K. Rowling’s novel about a year ago and really enjoyed it. The characters are numerous and their relationships complex but JKR explains it all admirably.
I watched BBC’s offering last night. Their version merely throws the characters at you with gay abandon. I didn’t understand it, even though I know the plot! How did the rest of you fare, who have maybe not read the book, I wonder?

  1. I’ve read the Harry Potter series but not J.K. Rowling’s other books as yet. Here in India, I regret we can no longer get BBC Entertainment on Tata Sky, the cable we sujbscribe to. We used to, but no more. I hope to read some of her other books some day. 🙂 — Suzanne

Have never read it. Have tried to read HP – several times – but never got very far.

I will be pleased to read your thoughts, even if you don't agree.
