Guard Donkey

Conservationists have a problem persuading farmers on the savannah not to kill big cats threatening their flocks. Many cheetah particularly have been killed as a result. The solution is remarkable: guard donkeys. Apparently, a donkey, kept with sheep, will protect them. Surprising though it may seem, a donkey is a formidable opponent for a big cat.
I confess I have always thought of donkeys as “joke animals”. I find I owe them an apology.  I am happy in my new-found respect.

Yes, it rather surprised me. They look such docile beasts: it’s hard to take in that they can be doughty fighters too.
Many thanks for your feedback Donna.

I will be pleased to read your thoughts, even if you don't agree.
