The leadership contest has the Labour Party navel gazing again. It seems to me, the questions posed are much the same now as they were forty-odd years ago, when I first started watching. Should you do what is right, or should you do what is popular? The personal ambitions of Labour’s M.P.s will always taint this debate. Fortunately, the manifesto is NOT their property.
I believe it is a no-brainer. Take the moral high ground and offer a vision of how socialism will work for the U.K. Anything else is a sell-out and not worthy of the great Labour movement.
